The senior Mandarin class has recently been given a task on writing a legend story using their own imagination. They are required to structure the story logically, plot an interesting story line and use descriptive words. All class members have completed the writing task with good quality. 大斧
很久以前，人们平静地生活着。有一天，一族半人半树的生物来了， 样子很可怕，要求人族给他们很多献祭，如果人们不献祭，半人半树会打人们。
很多年来，人族一直在给半树生物献祭。 后来人们再也没有东西可以给半树生物了，所以半树生物开始奴隶人们。
一年一年过去了， 人口的数量变得越来越少。 有一个孩子叫大斧， 他十岁的时候，要做半树生物的献祭。 他家知道了这件事后，他妈妈给了他一条项链，一家人哭了一夜。
大斧走时，他自己拿了小刀去。路上，他遇到了两只半树生物， 他用小刀杀死了这两只半树生物。 他又继续走了一段路，遇到了一位老人家， 告诉了他发生的事。
大斧说：“大人们很怕半树生物， 不过我杀了两只半树生物。 它们真不是太可怕， 我能够杀了它们。”
老人说：“很多年过去了，我都没有给半树生物找到我。 不过人们会有胜利的一天， 如果你有信心， 人们都会成功。”
大斧说：“老爷爷，是真的吗？”
老人说：“是啊，我要给你一样东西。”
老人去了一会儿，他回来时手里拿着一只大斧头。老人说：“这只斧头送给你，从此你就是人们的保护者，你会打败半树生物， 你会得到胜利。”
老人说：“我不可以留在你的世界里了，再见。”。老人说完就死了。
大斧回到他的家里，告诉了大家他和老人家的故事， 说只要有信心， 就会得到胜利。
大人们拿出刀刀剑剑去和半树生物打仗，打了几天，半树生物们很快死去了。 从此以后， 大斧就日日夜夜保护人族， 不准半树生物出来害人了。
