Resources

nciku is an online dictionary with English and Chinese for language learners.

clearchinese.com provides Mandarin students with the online resources they need. It offers a useful and highly customisable Chinese-English dictionary, Learn Chinese (a free Chinese course) , a Chinese writing tutorial and a set of useful mp3 Chinese lessons. There is also a selection of free Chinese fonts to download.

Chinese4Kids aims to motivate children to learn Chinese in a fun way, with Chinese children’s songs, rhymes, games and activities.

Chinese-Tools.com has all-things Chinese including lessons, dictionary, tools, culture and news.

The Chinese Reader is a tool designed to aid non-fluent readers of chinese. It provides an intuitive interface to help you explore the language.

Semanda offers quick and simple review and download of Mandarin Chinese vocabulary cards and online multiple choice quizzes for children/kids.

Serge Melnyk provides free mandarin lessons which are theme-based. He has a strong American/Canadian accent which is a little distracting however the Mandarin speakers are good.

Learning Chinese Online is a list of useful links compiled by the Department of Asian and Asian American Studies, California State University at Long Beach.
